Hey, official Medium person chiming in with a quick point of clarification here. We use things like Copyleaks and other tools sometimes to spot-check. But we don't use it as our only way to spot spam or AI or to suspend/revoke accounts. The reason is for the exact same reason your team doesn't -- we test the leading AI detector tools regularly and our team can consistently beat them. Also, using Copyleaks or similar at the scale of Medium would cost approx. one zillion dollars; there's probably no way we could use Copyleaks for every post on Medium and remain a $5/month (or free!) product. Basically, I think we're more or less on the same page here re: copyleaks and AI detectors.
